STEAMBOAT SPRINGS-Steamboat Springs High School joins schools across the country in a national mass student walkout calling for stricter gun control laws. The peaceful protest at the high school was led by a group of fearless female students.
"As a high school student, hearing about all of these shootings, not only in school but across the country, it's frightening," Olivia Hobson says. "Yesterday, we had a lockdown drill. We had to pile desks in front of the door and huddle in a corner for fifteen minutes."
"It's really unsettling, going to school and not knowing if you will be able to come home. I think it's important for all of us to start stepping up and speaking out and pushing the people in control of our safety to take action," Hobson says.
