This year, Colorado celebrates the Sesquisemiquincentennial (say that three times fast!). That’s more colloquially known as America 250 - Colorado 150, a statewide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th birthday.
Fun fact: Colorado is known as the Centennial State because it entered the Union in 1876, exactly 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
This summer, Steamboat Springs is celebrating at the Fourth of July parade. The parade will take place in downtown Steamboat; arrive before the 10 a.m. start time to snag a front-row spot to the action. Afterwards, take in a jumping competition at Howelsen Hill, listen to live music at the base of Steamboat Resort and later that night, catch a rodeo show. There’s no shortage of activities in town this weekend. Happy birthday, Colorado!
