Early Season Snow Continues to Fall

10/11/2013 10:14AM ● By Grant Johnson
Steamboat seems to be in a weekly storm pattern for the time being, as the second storm in two weeks dropped snow on the upper mountain of Steamboat Ski Resort last night. Above is a capture from the web cam at Rendezvous Saddle, showing the snow's accumulation on the porch this morning.

Two inches have been reported in the official weather conditions released by the mountain, with a 60% chance of precipitation and a low of 46°F/8°C. OpenSnow.com predicts several inches of snow for ski areas across the state, exciting news for Loveland and Arapahoe Basin as they near the finish of their traditional race to be the first area to open. Higher areas could see 4 to 6 inches, including nearby Cameron Pass.
