A Unique Proposal – Valentine’s Day Story Contest 

"MARRY ME?” Giant fluorescent green and orange letters spelled out the words along a stretch of country road in Nebraska. Breanne Mueller spotted the strange-looking landmark from an airplane. Her brother, a pilot, had invited Breanne and her boyfriend, Anthony Giguere, along for a sightseeing flight. The invitation didn’t seem out-of-the ordinary, Breanne recalls, as “he’s always looking for a reason to fly.” Little did she know her family was helping to orchestrate a marriage proposal. Breanne’s sister and her husband got up early to spraypaint the words on the roadway. 

“I was looking down, and at first I was kind of confused about what I was seeing. Then, when I turned back, he was holding out the ring,” Breanne recalls. That was in July 2011. One year later they were married on Thunderhead Peak, atop the gondola. “It was gorgeous,” Breanne recalls.
